  • I sent a complaint to XXXX via Trading Standards after a water supply problem which had gone on for over four weeks unresolved. Within 1 hour I had a call from XXXX and 2 hours later an emergency crew turned out, dug up and repaired the mains and restored normal supply. Without the use of this complaint procedure we would still have a problem I am sure. August 05

  • My email letter published on your website, and faxed to XXX, proved very effective. On 1 Nov. I received the replacement suitcase, the day after my deadline of 31 Oct. In the current call centre culture adopted by manufacturers and mail order companies there is a need for websites like yours that pack a powerful punch to counteract the shoddy service provided by their staff.   • XXX responded to my complaint by sending a surveyor to examine the work. He agreed that it was not of a satisfactory standard. It was arranged that the wardrobe would be refitted on 17 October. I took the day off work so that I could be present to receive the delivery of the replacement parts and to supervise the work. On 16 October I was informed that the fitter was not available but XXX were still planning to deliver the parts on 17 October. I expressed my displeasure in very strong terms and XXX arranged for the fitter to come on Saturday 18 October disrupting my weekend. The work was completed to a satisfactory standard. I withheld £198.00 of the final payment and wrote to the Customer Services Manager expressing my concern at the poor customer services and quality control. I received an apology and a agreement to waiver the outstanding money. I have no doubt that if I had not made my original complaint through \'How to complain\' I would not have had this outcome.October 2003

Just as she requested of the other intended victims, she required me to send her $19.95 for the cost of mailing, paper, etc. to do my chart. In addition, she requested a valuable piece of information--my birth date. In these days of identity theft...I\'m very careful! Just wanted you to know her scam is active in Pennsylvania as well. Too late for the original payment to her £22.95 for an astrological reading which after some six weeks never arrived. She had the cheek to write me again for a book "Playing Your Cards Right" another £22.95.
