A
train manager had to order 150 passengers off a train from
Penzance to Paddington due to overcrowding over the bank holiday
weekend. Passengers who had booked seats couldn't sit down
as there was nowhere for the occupants to move to. A spokesperson
for First Great Western apologised and said that all passengers
will receive compensation. He added that there is 'no legislation,
no guidelines, no railway rules' with respect to the capacity
of railway carriages.
