PM writes: I am writing to tell you that my problems with
Tescos credit card, about which I wrote to you earlier,
have been resolved. I complained through the website howtocomplain.com.
It
is always good to hear when complaints are properly handled
without the intervention of this column. The Howtocomplain
website provides useful information and allows complaints
to be submitted online in many instances, although it does
not cover all financial firms.
The Financial Ombudsman Services website, financial-ombudsman.org.uk,
is another useful source, and includes a guide to making
complaints. You can get a hard copy by calling its consumer
helpline on 0845 080 1800.
Meanwhile,
people with endowment mortgages who are not sure whether
they have a valid complaint, nor how to go about making
one, should take a look at the Consumers Associations
site at endowmentaction.co.uk.
