Registration
Problems
If you receive
an error message or are unable to proceed when trying to register
it is likely that this is due to your computer not accepting cookies.
To change this is a very simple process and the instructions are
given below.
What is
a cookie? A cookie is a piece of data stored on the users
hard drive containing some very basic information about the user.
They enable the site to recognise the user when revisiting to simplify
the login process. They do not intefere in any way with the performance
of your PC and are very small. Most websites now use cookies. Please

further details.
Why do you
use cookies? Cookies help us indentify you as the owner of the
registration you have input. They enable you to use the site at
any time without having to re-enter your logon details each time
you access different parts of the site and for each session. Cookies
help us track the activity on our site too so we can ensure the
site is tailored for maximum benefit.
How do I
enable cookies on my PC? Below are some simple instructions
for the major types of web browser (most people now use Explorer
5). If you still have problems logging in after enabling cookies
or are unsure of the information contained here please send an email

Internet
Exporer 6.x
The latest
version of Microsfsoft's browser includes privacy options related
to the W3C's P3P project. Websites should have a P3P policy declaration
before the browser accepts (by default) the setting of cookies.
We have such a declaration and this should enable your PC to accept
cookies from howtocomplain.com. However if you are still having
diificulties please try the following:
In IE6 select
"view" from the top menu and select "Privacy Report"
from the list.
This should bring up a box with a list of recently visited web pages.
Select any http:www.howtocomplain.com/ page from this list and then
click summary towards the bottom right of this box.
This should present a message "could not find a privacy policy........".
At the bottom of this page is an "always allow this site to
use cookies". Please check the button next to this and then
Ok it and the close the residual box. Please note the link to our
privacy statement above.
Internet
Explorer 5.x
Select "Tools
| Internet Options..." from the main menu.
Change to the "Security" tab
Click "Custom Level..."
Scroll down to the "Cookies" section.
To enable: Set "Allow cookies that are stored on your computer"
to "Enable" Set "Allow per-session cookies"
to "Enable"
Click "OK"
Internet
Explorer 4.x
Select "View
| Internet Options..." from the main menu.
Change to the "Security" tab.
Select "Custom" and click "Settings..."
Scroll down to the "Security" section.
To enable: Select "Always accept cookies"
To disable: Select "Disable all cookie use"
To get a prompt: Select "Prompt before accepting cookies"
Click "OK"
Navigator 3.x
Select "Options
| Network Preferences..." from the main menu.
Change to the "Protocols" tab.
Navigator 3.x does not have an option to completely disable accepting
cookies.
To get a prompt: Check "Accepting a Cookie" under "Show
an Alert Before"
Click "OK"
Communicator 4.x
Select "Edit
| Preferences..." from the main menu.
Select "Advanced"
To enable: Select "Accept all cookies" or "Accept
only cookies that get sent back to the originating server"
To disable: Select "Disable cookie"
To get a prompt: Check "Warn me before accepting a cookie"
and select "Accept all cookies" or "Accept only cookies
that get sent back to the originating server"
Click "OK"
